Illinois Voices is led by a Board of Directors, which follows our bylaws and is responsible for guiding our mission, approving projects, and overseeing expenditures. Board members are selected and approved by the current board and are expected to actively participate in the organization.
Board Member Requirements:
- Attend monthly board meetings (typically via video call).
- Engage in organizational activities such as meetings, conferences, training, fundraising, and outreach.
- Have a personal or professional connection to public registry issues—whether directly impacted, supporting a loved one, or involved in activism, research, treatment, or social services.
- Align with the mission and goals of Illinois Voices.
- Have access to and basic knowledge of technology (internet, email, phone, etc.).
- Work collaboratively with board members and supporters.
- Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills are a plus.
- Applicants must have completed parole or probation before applying and should not be under investigation or involved in ongoing criminal cases.
